About Me

Hello, my name is Amanda Pfaff. I am a registered social worker with a Master of Social Work degree. I have been working in the helping profession since 1999. Initially working with children and youth, my focus for the last 7 years has been in adult mental health, and my professional interest is in the area of traumatic stress. Currently I am studying the benefits of yoga in healing from trauma and managing stressful life events.  I understand how mental illness and addiction impacts individuals, family, friends, and supporters and can comfortably support people through their experience. I have always found working alongside others, no matter the complexity of challenges they face, a natural fit for me. I have been described as authentic, approachable, intuitive and compassionate. Most importantly, I have a deep respect for anyone who reaches out to open up and share their story because I understand the strength this takes. My promise to those I work with is that I practice with integrity and ensure my therapeutic relationships are built on a foundation of trust, safety, and confidentiality. Through collaborative partnerships I offer new perspectives and opportunities to work through life’s challenging situations.
